Early Career & New Leader Essentials
Start your emerging leaders off right by giving them the emotional intelligence and skills to manage, engage, and inspire people.
-
What is it?
Participants will learn practical leadership skills such as facilitating, influencing, negotiating, supervising, and managing productivity alongside methods for doing these things in an emotionally intelligent way.
The learning experience will ground participants in a neuroscience-based model for understanding emotional reactions for self and others and provide simple, practical tools and techniques for managing emotions as part of the workflow.
-
Why do it?
Leadership Essentials develops the right leadership qualities needed to create high performance and produce reliable results. Employees who acquire these skills are more likely to advance in their careers.
-
Who is it for?
The Leader Essentials program is ideal for early career, emerging, and new leaders. The program delivers foundational learning that will scale up throughout the participant’s career. The program also works well for intern cohorts. Interns see the experience as a perk, generating loyalty and connection to the organization.
-
How is it delivered?
The basic Leadership Essentials program consists of six 1.5 hour workshops, including four foundational workshops and two custom workshops selected by your organization (see module options below). The workshops are delivered virtually by a Kintla facilitator. They are typically delivered once per week, but the schedule can be customized to fit the needs of your organization.
The workshops present concepts, case studies, quick learning checks, and a practice plan for applying the concepts on the job. After the first workshop, each of the following workshops begins with an interactive debrief of the previous week’s practice. The debrief helps the learning stick and allows for the sharing of best practices among the participants.
The maximum class size for the basic program is 25, but companies can customize the program with large webinar style workshops or with smaller cohorts that meet following the workshop for coaching, discussion, and further practice exercises.
